sudden high rpm when shifting gear
pls help may car having a problem.what is the cause of sudden high of rpm when i shifting my gear to high gear then some times reverse gear it goes all the way up to 5000 or more then go back to normal.But sometime it allmost reach to the red line then i have no choice to stop my engine.by the way may car is kia pride b1 carb.Thanks to those who will reply.

Sounds like your clutch is bad, the clutch is slipping and needs replaced more than likely. -
rather vague discription... i suspect english is a second language. especially since it's a B1 carby Pride.
please re-post your conditions in your native language and we can have someone here translate for you.
initial gut reaction would point to sticking throttle linkage, or possibly temp related vacuum leak.Trees aren't kind to me...

I see what you are saying Festyboy, it is staying at redline and she is having to shut it off. Although its says when she shifts into high gear and the sudden high rpm which lead me to the clutch theory.Comment
