Ordered a water pump for the 91, finally got the motor running pretty well, hoping the water pump will solve the numerous cooling system issues, my question is this.. Can I get to the water pump without pulling the motor? doesn't look like there is a whole lot of clearance down around the crankshaft pulley but perhaps the crankshaft pulley stays on? I even dusted of my repair manual but it is annoyingly unspecific.

yes the WP can be done in the engine bay. easiest if you remove the crank pulley (remove passenger mount and lower the engine to allow the pulley to pop off IF you have AC or PS).Trees aren't kind to me...

it does have the ac pulley, as the car the motor came out of had ac, wish I knew it needed a water pump when I had the motor on the bench:laughing6:89 LX (461xxx miles original motor and trans, retired)
