Have a 93 festiva, completely stock everything. Problem is that the transmission seems to be a little rougher going into some of the gears, and will also make a short grinding noise while going into reverse. I have never had a cable style clutch before, and if it was a hydraulic clutch I would just say it needs to be bled. Is this a sign of the clutch being worn out? Can I just tighten up the adjusting nut at the fork? The clutch disengages fairly close to the top of the travel range, but I can't for the life of me make the clutch slip in any situation. Thanks for your time.

Check for cable adjustment and also check the transmission fluid level. To check the level carefully, and I can't stress the carefully part enough, remove the speedo drive gear housing which acts as the transmission dip stick. There's one 10mm bolt holding the housing in. You'll find the the housing by following the speedo cable down to the transmission on the back side. It points straight up.Ian
