I have installed an aftermarket tach. But it seems to read low. Can any one give me some numbers, ie in overdrive, what should the engine RPMs be at 55, 65, 70 MPG? My car has stock wheels and tires, 5 sp manual. Thanks. Mike

did something stupid, need help
my cheap after market tach don't read right so I bought a instrument cluster with a tach. Plug an play right? Not really. On my 93 Festiva cluster with out a tach the speedo cable plugs in at the center of the cluster. On the cluster with the tach the speedo cable plugs in 3/4 inches to the right of center (looking from the seat). Trouble is the speedo cable comes through the firewall inside a support. When I finally managed to get the speedo cable plugged in and mounted in the dash it was kinked. Now I need a new/different speedo cable. And it looks to me like I will have to make a new route to get it to the cable through the firewall to the speedo head with out a kink.
Can anyone with a tach cluster tell me how their speedo cable is routed? Thanks. Mike90 Festiva L

It's in Wil's Articles of this forum. He explains hoe to re route the speedo cable without any drilling or hardly anything.
