  • Got my Festy back...

So I bought my Festy back and I would like to address a few issues, input appreciated.

    1. Valve cover gasket was replaced (FelPro) and is still leaking. Is there a better one or a better way to install?

    2. Muffler is crap, better alternatives that won't make it too buzzy sounding?

    3. Back in the day I recalibrated my MAF on my turbocoupe, has anyone tried that here?

    Thanks!

    1. Never had an issue with a Felpro and properly torqing the bolts.

    2. You wield or want OEM type bolt on ease?

    3. Unless you've swap the engine, you have a VAF.

i like the tone from Thrush Turbo II mufflers. mellow and inexpensive. a resonator in line really helps with the drone. (think cherry bomb)

How loud is that? I am wanting to do something myself that isn't much louder than stock with my 2 inch stainless exhaust.

            1. Yank the grommets and stick stacks of washers under the VC bolt heads. It'll never leak again. But be careful with your new license/freedom to shear.

Curent gasket is only a few months old. Get a new one as well as washers?

I just bolted on on a muffler from Candian Tire. Inexpensive. Sounds fine.

I didn't. I looked at the gasket and it was fine, so I just used the washers instead of grommets. Fixed it for me.

The reason for asking is I may have found a company that will build speedo gear boxes custom for us. Once I get a few bits of info to them anyone can call and order up the part!

Why not just buy a new one?
