  • What's overheating?

Normally my car stays about 190 when it's colder outside and the heat is wimpy well I noticed while sitting still last night for a extended amount my gauge went to about 215-220 and my heat worked better so what do you think is over heating?

Odd. My cars rarely get over 175 in winter, even idling for long periods. Great heat, too.

Sure the gauge is correct? I take it the fan turned on?

This is with cardboard in front of my radiator.

That picture is what it reached when setting still then dropped to 190. Would it hurt if it ran the warm while driving?

That I dunno. I've never had any of mine get that hot except when low on antifreeze. My fan usually kicks on about 200-205 I think? Even just a tiny bit low on antifreeze does that for my '90.
