High Idle, Escort carb

I have an 89 carbureted Festy with high idle issues. Ive had it at my mechanic and hes having issues getting it sorted out, now is talking about a rebuild kit, but im not convinced thats going to fix the high idle. Ive done some research in the forum and see everybody recommending the Escort Carb. What year Escort carb will fit the festy without having to modify everything (mounts, throttle linkage...)

I believe their is only one rare Mazda 323 carb that is a direct fit to the B3 bolt pattern. All other carbs require an adapter or modification of the mounting bosses.

No Escort carb is a direct bolt-on. Read this thread:

Probably cheaper to swap to efi.
