Get a Haynes manual - they have wiring diagrams & wire colors in the back. Every time I've used them, they've been accurate.

I just fixed a short in my front marker lights last week. Are all 4 corner lights out? Do your headlights work (if not it could be the switch?)? Did the lights work prior to the cd installation?

1st check the fuse, I assume you did. The wire that powers all 4 corner markers and the dash lights is a red/green wire (red with green stripe). The fuse has a large red wire coming in, remove the fuse and check for power on that side of the fuse. The other side of the fuse is that red/green wire. The fuse is in the lower left corner of the fuse block. If there's power then you need to start checking down the line (red/green wire), it splits off to the front lights, rear lights and the dash. My dash is back together or I would be able to help a little more.

not all 4 lights are out just the cornor lights next to the headlights... the headlights and the blinker lights both work how they are supposto... the lights did work before the cd player was put there. i did check alll the fuses. i checked if the bulbs work and they are still good too.. i just can not figure out where the red green wire that was in the back of the stock radio goes because all the other wires are used.. the Haynes manual doesn't tell me where the red green wire goes...
im kinda new at wireing cars so it might be a dumb mistake. ops:
          thanks for the help!!

What I meant by all 4 lights: are the front 2 yellow and rear 2 red marker lights working? The red/green wire also goes to the radio harness to illuminate it when the lights are on. I suspect that your problem/solution lies somewhere in this area. Look at the Haynes interior lighting system schematic and you'll see this wire and what it goes to.

            good luck

No. This wire should be hot when the lights are turned on.

Another thing to check is to check the light relay. Turn on the marker lights and listen for the relay to click, this is located in the front right corner of the engine bay.

If you don't have a multimeter then you need to get one. Since you just put in the cd player your problem may be in the red/green wire there. Check for 12 volts at this wire with the lights on. If no power then remove the fuse and check for continuity between this wire and the fuse box where it comes out, it should have continuity. If not check continuity between the red/green wire and ground, this should be an open circuit. If all is ok then you need to go to the marker lights and find this wire and repeat this. The red/green wire also comes off the light relay, check for power there also.
