Wow. Nice looking car. Yes, it looked exactly like yours. The one I have now, has the same top and bottom holes. The holes for the MC lines are angled. Where there is a cap side on yours (my old one) there are just 2 caps like they are plugging the holes.

I know this has turned into a thread with me talking to myself. Checked the brake lines today after 2 days of driving it and sure enough, bottom line is leaking. It is tight. So tight that when I last had the wrench on it, the block was moving and pulling on the firewall. It is tight. I just don't know what to do. Now, the line that is on there, my father-in-law and I made from new stock. We did reuse the nuts, but the line was brand new. The only thing I can think to do is to replace the whole line with new nuts and tube.. I just don't know.

It could be that you tightened the nut so much that it cracked or deformed the flare on the line.
When I'm good I'm very, very good and when I'm bad I'm HORRID.

You re-used the old nuts? That would mean you flared the tube yourself, right? Hmmmm ......

Why does that make me wanna think there might be a problem with the flaring and/or tube size?

There is hand bendable brake line available at part stores that is cheap and easy, that have the nuts and flares installed already. I replaced my brake lines with those and not a problem arose. I think the line nut was 6mm, but not sure

That is what I am figuring is that there might be something odd with the sizing of the flare. However, between my Father-In-Law and myself, we have done many brake lines with the same flaring tool and it has always worked before. Yes, I am to the point of going and purchasing a completely new line from the store and putting it on. However, does anyone know the approximate length of the drivers side front line? I think they sell them straight and I have to bend it. I chose to reuse the old fitting since it came out of the new proportional valve so I know it seated well. Just keeps proving my point of using brand new pieces when I should..

I used the master cylinder gauge when I installed my replacement master cylinder. It said in the shop manual that the push rod setting was critical. I bought a bunch of cheap Festiva Rotunda kits on the bay. That gauge was in one of them. I should get into the tool rental business.

At this point, I so far have not had any problem with the replacement MC and any critical settings. Just bolted it together and it so far is working well.
