  • 1992 ford festiva help?!? Removing steering wheel

So.. I'm going to sound like a total noob here but how do I remove the steering wheel ? Im trying to put an after market steering wheel on my festiva but I can't find a tutorial anywhere, can I have step by step instructions on how to do it? Also how do I get my horn working on my after market one once installed, sorry if it's a lot!ty1huhuhh

Remove the center steering wheel cover by removing the screws on the back side of the steering wheel. After the cover is loose you will need to unplug the horn wire. Remove the large steering wheel nut and the steering wheel should just pull of with gentle persuasion. If not, you will need a simple steering wheel puller from your local auto parts store.

You must connect the existing horn circuit wire to your new steering wheel. If your horn is functional and you have tested it to verify it is good, it should work. If not, you will need to troubleshoot. Do you have a Haynes manual for your car? It will show you the wiring diagram for the horn circuit, fuses, etc.

Some Festy steering wheels are harder to get off than others, but I have never needed a puller. Just work it back and forth.
