  • Coil spring questions for Aspire sway

    Hello all,

Yesterday I got lucky and was able find an untouched aspire at my local junkyard. I took off the rear beam assembly along with the front spindles and AT calipers . I figure I will buy new rotors along with the brakes ( Still debating on Drilled slotted/ slotted/ or Regular!!). Being that the struts were pretty much off the Aspire; I decided to take off the Coils. To my surprise the junk yard was trying to charge me $20 per coil + core+environmental fee and what ever other fee they felt like taxing on. So for 4 coils it was over $100 buck ; i felt it was a ridiculous price considering I bought a the entire rear beam for $79. Here's my dilemma my Festivas suspension is so bad I wasn't even able to fit metro 13s in the back without the tires rubbing on my strut, and from my understanding of how suspension work coils set ride height and struts take on the bumps on the road, but I could be wrong. I have a few questions and hopefully members who faced the same issue can help

-Where can I purchase coils at a fair price ? any other vehicles that may share same coil ( I seen a posting about 95 civic springs possibly fitting' is it true?)
    - If I were to use my old Festiva coils with the new kyb struts, any change in height or should i expect the same height?
Working...
