  • Condensation?

Recently there's been this fluid sticking under my oil cap. Initially I was thinking it'd be a blown head gasket, or coolant mixing with oil, however I had my head gasket tested twice, and it passed both times.

In addition, when I check the dipstick, the oil is perfectly normal.

Any idea if this is condensation? I drive about 9 miles to work and by the time I get to work, my engine typically isn't at full operating temp.

I had an old Ford truck that did that and I just replaced the thermostat with a 190* one. Problem solved!

It's not caked in the engine or anything, simply on the top of the cap.

I think you are right about not getting the engine warm enough to burn off moisture. I had a similar issue with an older car when I was only doing small round trips to work and back... nothing to worry about.

Mine did that when I was running cheap Walmart oil. switched, then gone.

Happens every winter, short trips, engine not warming up. Take it out and drive it. Foam disappears come spring.
