Welcome, and fill out your location in your profile.
You'll need a press, typically finding a replacement is easier. If you're willing to upgrade, Aspire or Rio struts/spindles are better and are easier to replace the rotors.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

If you are inexperienced with them I would say take it to a trusted shop. However if you want to tackle it yourself youll wanna read this first. I just did one last week and it was an ordeal. 20 dollars in parts and 5 hours of swearing.
Chilton's Perennial Edition Service Manuals contain repair and maintenance information for all major systems that may not be available elsewhere. They include repair and overhaul procedures, thousands of illustrations, and troubleshooting. This 1997 Auto Manual offers a wide range of repair information on domestic cars from 1993 to 1997. An added Special feature includes Scheduled Maintenance Interval Charts."Its not fast, but its fast for a festiva."

Also, one more option, since these are built by Kia, take it to Kia and let them change the bearing. It will be the more expensive option, but they should be able to set the preload on it correctly. If you do it yourself, do not lose the spacer between the bearings. It's VERY important.Last edited by Team Lightning; 02-26-2014, 07:02 PM.Jerry

You can do it low buck and low tech. I've done it with basic hand tools in my driveway without any swearing involved. Creative use of basic stuff.
A ratchet handle in the knuckle to control arm ball joint stud "ring?" and a couple concrete/wood blocks, make a nice stand. A small sledge and some big sockets make an effective "press" to both remove and install the hub.
It's much simpler than it might seem. I could do it again in probably under an hour barring any stuck bolts/nuts.Last edited by sketchman; 03-03-2014, 01:00 PM.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
