  • Steering Assembly Components.....HELP!

I have a 88 Carbed LX and need help with the components for the steering assembly.
What assembly is past the tie rod ends towards the center of the car. I have the
Haynes Manuel, but it does not show or mention the center, Whatever), that both
sides of the tie rods connect to. Does anyone know what the assembly is? It appears
to be some kind of dampener or shock like component. Any diagrams available that you
might have a link to. Any help would be appreciated.

it's called "rack" but you may find it called differently depending on the manual.
