That's called an Air Bleed Control Valve, ABCV. It has two separate air bleeds to control the air/fuel mixture in the primary carburetor throat. One feeds air into the main fuel port and the other feeds the slow fuel port. There are two needle valves in it that open and close each passage, so there are two vacuum hoses for each passage - air in & air out. It does the same job as a Mixture Control Solenoid on other feedback carburetors, attempts to keep the air/fuel mixture near the stoichiometric ratio of 14.7:1
When I'm good I'm very, very good and when I'm bad I'm HORRID.

Not to hijack but is there anything in that book about the two lager hoses that go to the air cleaner from the exhaust manifold and the catylitic converter? Would love to study that book and have a good understanding of how these carbs work

pops up on ebay sometimes. 70 pages. chapters include engine cooling, fuel, engine management, engine elect, exhaust, diagnosis. written for even idiots like me! this is "the" bible for messing with the carb cars. too much to scan but here's your page.
