  • For about a month now.....

The battery light comes on and off every now and then on Shadow. I have looked over it several times and can't find anything wrong. Could it just be a loose wire or corroded wire? The altenator is making some noise but its fairly new too. The car starts up normal everytime.

    Thanks.

I got the battery light when the fuse links were giving me issues. Get the long leg fuses and jam those in there or better yet, take it apart and clean all contacts and then install the fuse upgrades. It WILL get worse, to where youll have no power for starting system and be stranded. when this is happeneing, i guarantee if you try to pull the fuse links out they will be too hot to touch.

Some auto parts stores will test alternators and batteries for free.
If the belt were slipping you'd expect to hear noise but you could
check the belt tension with a ruler. If you have a voltmeter you
could check the charging voltage at the battery while the engine is idling,
        about 14.5v.

i ran an auxillary wire from my battery to my alternator charge state port. the alternator has to reference the battery voltage to be able to put out an appropriatly voltaged charge, any time this isnt making connection the battery charge light will come on, as will any time the alternator isnt putting out voltage.
