A fix! I bent and kinked mine real bad the last time i pulled the engine so I'll try to find a new cable and see if it helps my issue. Who knows maybe i bent mine when i swapped to oj tach cluster too.

My Aspires always were a bad speedo tho..

I had a jumpy speedo at one time, even more so when it was bitter cold outside. Upon swapping out the unit the jumpiness disappeared outright. You cannot rule out a chipped tooth or some such within the instrument itself. I don't know how much work is involved but conceivably you could swap the speedo guts from your old one into the tach cluster. Play with the cable first, that's easiest.

I have an 89 with a carb and I got a tach cluster to put in it. I got the old one out and plugged the elect stuff into the new one and tried it but the tach isn't working. Do I need to run a wire to it?

rjsmall, no extra wire needed, all the correct wiring is in the loom.
