injectors ?

My wifes car went from 40 mpg to 20 in 1 week so i got to looking at it and think that 1 of her injectors are stuck wide open (black sooty plugs and exhaust),still need to test fuel pressure regulator.

Will a set of injectors from the aspire intake work in the Festi intake ? What are the difference except that the festiva injectors are purple and the aspire injectors are brown?

I've used them before that way. They worked just fine.

Thanks Sketchman ,I installed them this morning ,seems like it runs fine .I will watch her mileage for a bit to see how they do.

Mine were even a pintle design vs a disc design. The Aspire having the disc type. So you should be able to swap them and have greater tolerance for a lean A/F ratio should you have that goal in mind.

update well in my part of Texas we have smog test and it failed ,I was informed by the smog inspector that the cat and 02 sensor are probably bad also from raw fuel. still no cel tho.

I'm searching for a place that I can send the old purple injectors to for cleaned and flow tested any body done that?
how can 1 tell if the cat is bad ? and what do yall think of dunking it into a vat of soapy water and sloshing it around awhile like on this utube vid .

No dont change the injectors.Change the o2 sensor,plugs,wires,cap,rotor & coil.Then retest at a DIFFERENT facility,making sure the engine is hot.Wouldnt hurt to check your base timing either-The converter should be your last resort-
