  • Oil pressure switch(?)

I don't remember whether or not I posted a thread asking about this, but I'm still having the same issue.
At low idle (after car has warmed), the oil light comes on. When rev'd and driving at anything above 1500-2k rpms, the light disappears and only comes back on when the rpm of the car falls to idle (which I have set to around 800-1000rpm).
The last oil change was a while ago, but the problem didn't start until I had ran the oil for a while. It was a cheap Canadian Tire synthetic (motomaster formula 1 to be exact) and I have been running Mobil 1 filter. Before I used this [crappy] oil, I had only ran Royal Purp 5w30 with k&n filter.
When I changed the oil, I had some Lucas stabilizer and added that to avoid any valve clicking issues that may arise during the harsh cold of Canadian winters.
Well, its been warm recently, and the oil light is still on. There's been no loss of oil, the car does not burn oil, and the oil level is right at the F on the dipstick as it has been since I changed it in December.
I don't think its the oil pump itself, or I would think the oil light would be constantly on, and there'd have been some serious issues within the past 3 months of driving. Which leads me to believe its the oil pressure switch.
Is it possible that I have gummed it up by using the Lucas and I need to clean it out? Or could it actually be the oil pump? I'm not really sure what the problem is, but it started with the cheap oil and Lucas, and I'd say it ends there.
I have noticed a slow click when the car idles, that increases when rev'd, and it isn't the valves (they have a very distinct sound compared to this).
    Anyone able to help diagnose?
I'll be changing the oil today, after I run some seafoam through the crankcase to flush out any gunk that could be clogging things, and let you know what happens once I've done that. In the meantime, any ideas on what it may be would be greatly appreciated!

You need to throw an actual oil pressure gauge on there if you really want to know.

Is there a thread explaining such an install? I can swap a motor and such, but have never dabbled into anything more than an aftermarket voltmeter and tachometer.
