Another one of those car isn't starting.

I have a 93 GL and I was driving it the other day , I'm having an overheating problem so I was running it hot but I was able to drive it home. Then we had a nasty rain and when I went to drive it today it wouldn't do anything when I turned the key. I took the battery out and cleaned the connections because my battery is new. I put it back in and it wanted to start but just wouldn't. Sprayed some starter fluid and still the same.

I feel like my problem is electrical. I checked the plugs on the distributor ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397665422.856370.jpg

And to make matters worse I broke the end piece of the cable that connects in the center of the distributor cap. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397665616.961292.jpg

I'm trying to figure out what this cable is called so I can pick it up at a local parts store but nobody seems to know what I'm talking about or tries to sell me a whole wire kit.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Its the coil to distributor wire. I believe that you can buy them at Autozone separately. At least I remember seeing some hanging on a shelf behind the counter one time before.

It's not gonna start with out the coil wire lol.

Yea your right I've called almost every auto store around me with nothing in stock but I'm just gonna pull off the wire and bring it with me . It says 7mm hi temp radio suppression cable. Maybe there's a stock one they sell.

As long as the ends are the same it's all the same thing. Good luck just buying that one though, up here we can usually only get them in a kit with all the plug wires too.

In a pinch, you should be able to take a connector from any sparkplug wire (new/used/ junkyard/etc) and carfully pry it off the old wire and you should be able to crimp it onto your wire. Making sure you get the core in contact with the metal connector you are crimping.

Went in to the same autozone that told me they didn't have It. Went straight back in to there stock and found one hanging on the wall.

You may be able to pull ignition wires off wrecks for 99 cents each. That's what they charge near here. I got a new-looking set off a Mazda 323 last summer.
