  • Low RPMs and Hesitation.

Okay so I just did a full rebuild on my 90 LX Auto B3 and I've been starting it for about a half an hr every day and letting it run to get stuff worked in real good before I take it out on the road. So it idles at about 800-1100, but the problem is when you put it in gear the idle drops to about 200 and starts jerkin around and dies out. Any clue? I'm really puzzled.

Possible vacuum leak? That's what it sounds like to me, anyway.

if you let a car run for that long it can cause carbon build up,it's not really good on an engine. could be vacuum like spike said or could just need some sea foam ran through engine to get carbon build up off

Ensure every single one of your vacuum lines should be solid and clamped with either a proper hose clamp or some zip ties. From there, try to gather some data for us like fuel pressure, vacuum readings, and ignition timing. Those three combined will tell us a heck of a lot about how your motor is running.

Alright well I'm glad someone said something about timing. Everything is set with the crank and head but about where should the distributor be at? And there shouldn't be carbon in it its all new. New head, pistons ect. What should the vacuum and fuel pressure be?
