Tranny problem

My car started humming this morning driving down the road, i can feel it coming threw the shifter and a little shaking in the clutch but not much. It sound like if you have ever been in a car with straight cut gear the hum you get from that!! anything will help i hope its something small

The bearing in 5th gear of my friend's Mustang is shot and it makes exactly the same noise you describe. He's driven it that way for 40k with no problems yet.

However, I'd still check it out because it may be more than you think.
