  • 93 Festiva air cleaner questions

OK going to go over to my bud's place and tackle this 93 festy again!

Car failed smog for timing and air cleaner, plan is to yank the pully's off clean them and see if i can figure out where the marks are supposed to be. I fear they may also be mounted wrong, I'll know soon enough.

next is fixing the air cleaner, the parts I need to replace, bought them off E bay, are from the "coupler" to the throttle body.

Want to confirm hose routing, this one has been jacked and I can't find a schematic for the hose routing and what the heck is an air reservoir chamber and what is it suposed to do?

I believe the current hose routing , for the smog / PCV system has been re routed and is actually pressuring the crank case causing the oil to be blown past the rear main seal. Hoping to correct both the PVC routing and remove excess pressure in the crank area and stop the leak with out haveing to go in and replace the rear seal.

Anyone got ideas on the air chamber or better yet a good clear picture of the PVC hose's coming off the air cleaner to throttle body section?

    Thansk in advance.

Spent the afternoon, bud was out till late with another project, and figured out where all the hose's go.

I have not run the car yet I have a bad throttle body gasket and the morons at autozone gave me the wrong one, right package and part number, Fel Pro 60697, but wrong gasket in the package, LOL!

Glad it was still sealed from the factory they have a tough time admiting they've done anything wrong.

New one will be here tomorrow, they did a visual at the depot to make sure I didn't get Repeat, so I should have her up and running tomorrow afternoon, correctly.
