    Whats the difference between a bp protege alternator and a b3 festiva alternator? Keep blowing my fuse and nothings grounding

    It should be higher amps.
    I had this problem once with my stock alternator, it would suddenly start to overcharge and blow the main fuse. Swapped it out and it was all good.
    Not sure if that's your problem but a place to look.
    I could tell mine was over charging by my volt meter it would peg 16v and my charge light would come on and blow the fuse.

      I have no time to check if its charging because right when I crank the engine and let the key back to on it blows the main fuse. I just got a new protege altenator and same problem, thanks for the reply

        Have you tried unhook in it and seeing if it's the alternator blowing the fuse.
        Others with more experience should chime in here as I don't have a lot of experience in this area.

          Yeah I unhooked the b+ wire to the alternator and main fuse doesnt blow. then I hooked it back up and unhooked the charge light plug, the fuse didnt blow. but when they are both hooked up it blows the fuse. I even checked the charge light wire to the instrument cluster, and its not grounding
