  • Grounding STI photos

Just thought I would share this cuz I woulda liked photos of how it was done to help me out. Others on here walked me through it though.

Just have a photo of my little ground wire a.k.a. (paper clip) unraveled, with a male connector to slip into the STI black connector that is also pictured.
Also a photo of the ground wire connected to the STI and the other end grounded to a bolt that is connected to the coil bracket. Was advancing my timing some so I took a picture of this setup. Also checked my vacuum and here is the reading I'm getting. Not bad i think.

Is there a reason to ground the sti like that? And your vacuum looks good mine runs to the far right of the green and as steady as a queen with a bucket of poo balancing on her head

You do the grounding when checking timing, from what I understand it overrides the computer so its not trying to adjust for what your doing? Hope I'm close on that description
My Vacuum is higher than before I advanced my timing but the needle still bounces a bit between 19 and 20.

Ahhhh well that makes since probably better then doing it by ear and mine sits at 23 On a BP but as long as your in the green zone your good I'm guessing you have the B3 but hope you got her running in tip top shape
