where is the engine Number?

I am the proud owner of a 1992 Ford Fetiva 11/91 model. Where do I find the "engine" number? I think it must be somewhere on the block

As you face the car from the front, look down on the firewall side of the valve cover on the right side to where the head attaches to the block. You should see a heavy chunk of the block about 1" wide sticking out from the block. The number should be stamped into the top of this. You may need a wire brush to clean any rust off to see the stamped number.
