  • 98 Festiva Seatbelt replacement

    Hi all
My trusty little 98 festiva is about to give me another 12 months of joy, however she does need the drivers side seatbelt replaced. I'm sure I can replace this myself, I've done a few other bits and pieces on her in the 10 months I've owned her, just after advice on how to do it and if it's that difficult.
My mechanic has said he will fit the belt if I can source a replacement.... But can I do it?
Bit about me.. 36, female, just got my licence 8 months ago and bought Madge (my festiva) to learn in. Her previous owner was her only owner, and seems to have maintained her very well. I did have to reseal the windscreen due to leaks and replace a few fuses, but apart from that she's a little gem. I have the philosophy that if I can learn to do the general car repair stuff myself, why not. Have to say it's quite fun, maybe I missed my calling.

    Thanks.

I was gonna ask if 98 was a typo but after seeing windscreen, I believe your overseas.
If I'm right than you have what we call an aspire.
Welcome to the site and we'll help you threw replacement of your seat belt. Getting one from your local junkyard/ wreckers.
    Is probably your best bet.

Sorry yes, I'm overseas - Australia. I have the 1998 ford festiva 3dr 'demon' trio. Probably should have said that to start with, sorry!
I'll pick up the belt this week and then I'll be back.
      Thanks
