re torqued after being put in new? Just curious. I've read where you should re torque after so many miles after a head gasket change.

You must be asking this for a reason. As with having to re-torque alloy wheels after driving for a day or two the properties of aluminum (cylinder head) and cast iron (short block) are such that studs, nuts and bolts can alter their tension, work loose or relax their grip. Failed gaskets can result meaning there is blow-by, coolant leaks into the combustion chambers or internal or external oil leaks.
