Stalling & idleing issues.

Blue (92 L 5 speed) has been experiencing the dreaded stalling and idling issues. It seams to idle fine on level ground but when slowing to a stop on a hill, or coasting down a hill, it stalls. It idles low too, around 4 to 6 thousand rpms.

The engine was put in around 4 months ago. It came from a junk yard. It ran fine for a while. I have given Blue new spark plugs, distributor, rotor, & wires. I even switched out the air meter. I noticed a little oil in the air intake. I had replaced the PCV valve too. The engine has a lot of power and runs great otherwise. Before Blue was mine, it had sat for several years & had insect nests in the engine compartment, remember, the engine that's in it now I got from zoomzoom and was put in about 4 months ago.

What else could it be? Fuel filter? worn piston rings? bad fuel pump?

This is on a mopar site but the information is pretty generic to fuel injected engines.

Ignition timing? Compression? Vacuum readings? Fuel pressure? The more information you can get us, the better!

One thing right now I can tell you is that it's using oil. No signs of burning it or leaking!

I have to get back on the compression. I have nothing to read it with.

Figured out the problem with Blue. ...... I think, The air intake hose was separated but still looked attached. It was sucking in air causing Blue not to idle right. Would that be causing the oil consumption too?

It idles great now, buy the way.
