center console

Hello
Anybody out there in festiva land that can give me an easy way to remove the center console from a festiva that is sitting on the dirt in a jy. How do I get the shift lever out of park in order to lift the console up off the floor?
Any help would be appreciated.

I assume it's an automatic.
"Also, the shift lever cannot be moved ftom the Park position unless the key is on and the brake pedal is depressed. An emergency override button next to the selector lever will allow the lever to be moved anytime it is slid rearward."

and don't forget that it needs a battery to get all of that done, as a auto owner.

The emergency override button will get it out of park without a battery for the servo.

Yes it's an automatic. I gather from your response that I don't need a battery, just need to hit the override button. Is the button pushed down, slid over or what? I'm going back to the jy tomorrow morning with the correct tools.
