Substitute shifter cable?

Please, does anyone know of a shifter cable that can be adapted/used in my automatic 1991 Ford Festiva GL?

I'm feeling like I'm at the end of my rope here. I would even consider having it remanufactured by someone who could do this, but I really cannot afford it on my income (I'm a temporary proofreader/copyeditor).

Please, any ideas??

Do you have a broken cable? If that's all, just go to the junkyard and pull one off another Festiva.
