I'm swapping 4 speed to 5 speed. Should I replace all the seals or just what I believe the output seal (where the axle slides in)?

It's cheap insurance to replace the output seals while it's out.Jerry

I don't find it difficult at all. I just used a big screwdriver to pry it out ensuring not to scratch where it mounted. Then i tapped the new one in with a block of wood and a hammer. I found the hardest part to be finding the correct seal. The one they gave me didn't match the one in there. I had to bring the old one back to match it.

This is what I see when I select output seal. Ones for the left and ones for the right.

Buy the ones from rockauto. Buy the Timken bearings. They are best. Hands down.
There is a rockauto discount code that can be found by a search for "discount code"
Bearings - SET 11 (2 each hub)
Seals - 4990 + 710323. 1 inner + 1 outerDan

That's for the front hub. I believe the OP was asking about the transmission output seals where the axle shafts ride.Originally posted by drddan View PostBuy the ones from rockauto. Buy the Timken bearings. They are best. Hands down.
