  • cv axle seals

I am confused. did a trans swap 4 to 5 speed and now my seals are leaking. So I started looking to buy the seals and got all confused
rear inner outer front inner rear outer bearings, what the flip.
I just need the right seals. I even found a thread on here 'transmission seals' but I didn't understand the bearings part.

im planning on buying from rock auto. anyone feel like helping a dummy out.

The "inner" and "outer" seals is referring to the seals in the axle hub assembly where your wheel bolts on, not the transmission axle seals. I always coat the seal lips with wheel bearing grease when I install the axle. I've never had one leak that way. Be careful when putting the axle in so you don't rub the seal with the splines on the axle. It's very easy to put a small nick in the seal that you may not even see that can cause a leak.
      You gonna race that thing?
