Has anyone ever bought a new cap and rotor for a stock 1.3 only to get home and find out its the wrong one? Last year when I bought my car I went to autozone and got a complete tune up kit. Plugs wires cap and rotor. Got home and everything fit except the rotor I cleaned the old one and took the new one back all the ones in stock were the same. I left it like that with intentions of fixing it right but never got around to it. Today due to.a no start issue due to a coil failiure. I decided to do another complete tune up minus wires as they were less than a year old and in good shape. Long story short the new cap is not only shorter but not the same diameter and the rotor well its just like the one from last year. I did notice the dust cover on mine has the Mitsubishi fri diamond on it. Is there a part number I need to be looking for or a certain manufacturer? Or do I have an oddball distributor?'btw mine is a 1990 L Plus with efi and an auto trans.

When I bought one for my 90L that I bought new, the one listed for a 90 would not fit. I had to get one for a 91. This was at Autozone. Try getting one for a 91.Jerry

Very familiar with Mills River. My GGG Grandfather was William Henry Mills (for whom Mills River is named), and Mills is my middle name. And his memory goes on...
My oldest grandson's middle name is Mills and my youngest gandson's middle name is Henry. I'm sure that he probably has progeny in every US state and many foreign countries...you may be pleasantly surprised at the number of people who are familiar with Mills River, NC.
Here is a link to a thread that may help you with the variations in Festiva distributors:
There are other too... put distributor in the search field and you will find more.Last edited by 1990new; 09-26-2014, 10:29 PM.

What's even more interesting is I used to call Charleston home. Now I consider it my second home. I was stationed there in the late 80's and early 90's before the Naval base closed. Is my thinking correct that the Mills House in Charleston is from the same family as well? You do know were actually an incorporated town now and not just a community finally. We also secured Sierra Nevadas east coast brewery not to awful long ago?90 L plus 180,000 miles and counting.

No... The original Mills House in Charleston was built in 1853 by Otis Mills, a local grain merchant. He could have been related to William Henry (who was born in England) farther back, but I really don't know. William Henry had lived in Camden, SC. He was a loyalist and fought on their side at the battle of Kings Mountain. It was after the war that he and his family ran for the hills so to speak and ended up in Mills River. I was up in Edneyville for a family reunion last year but didn't make it back for this years.
I just looked up up the Mills River web page..Incorporated 216 year after it's settlement... it is a beautiful place. I'll have to visit the brewery next time I'm up that way.
