91 auto Festiva, stops but will not start until it sits for a while. Put in new fuel injectors, catalitic converter. Has not solved problem. one person suggested a crank case sensor problem, another said it might be a distributer.

I would say that if you can get it to die and not start then take a plug wire off and use a spare plug or screwdriver and check if you have spark when it wont start. I would be willing to bet that you have a bad distributor. I am fairly sure that the Festiva doesnt have a crank sensor in the traditional sense but it has a crank/ cam sensor in the distributor for timing the ignition pulses.

I used to get that with a failing ignition module (inside distributor on my car). Module heats up and electronics fail until
module cools down. Like the man wrote, I'd check igniton.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
