    2 wire sensor the carb sits on

    Please help for the life of me I have no idea what it is. 88 ford festiva carburated.
    There is a 2 wire sensor of some sort that is under the carb base. This disinigrated when I pulled my carb. What does it do and is it needed?

    It is called an HTC . It is heater for the fuel to prevent icing of the carb.

      Been running mine without it for quite some time with no troubles, so I'd say it is not necessary. I do have an Escort carb though.
