  • rear strut replacement question

I am attempting to replace my rear struts but am unsure if I need to use a spring compressor to remove the old ones. I have the tool but don't really see how I can use it while the strut is still on the car... Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

no spring compressor needed. Just loosen the top nut in the car before jacking it up and everything will loosen up.

There's a flat section at the very top where you can put an adjustable wrench to keep it from turning.
