  • Clutch adjustment

    I have a 91 with a 5 speed tranny.
I have owned the car for several years and it has 140,000 on it.
The clutch has slipped ever since I bought it. A little at first but over the years it has gotten worse.
It is ok once going but slips under acceleration.
Is there a way to adjust the clutch in the Festiva or is just that the clutch is worn and needs to be replaced?
    Thanks.

replace. i think the only thing you can adjust is the shifter linkage, and the pedal travel

Clutch cable adjustment is the easiest thing you can do to a festiva. Might not even need a tool. Just a few turns go a long way. Clutch should be good even at 140,000 barring any abuse. Adjust the pedal travel first. Id show you a pic of adjustment nut but my camera batteries are recharging.
