  • Internally/Externally Balance Difference Between Large and Small Snout Cranks?

Well I accidently threw out the damper off of my small snout engine block but kept the timing gear, I'm going to machine out the center of my large snout pulley to fit the small snout timing gear. Will this work? Is the small snout (1991) balanced different than the large snout (1993)?

Reason you probably didn't get an answer is no one else has ever attempted this. There are folks on here though that can supply you with a direct fit pulley for a decent price. But it is nice to see and hear about backyard inventiveness; which seems to be a hallmark of Festy ownership.

Will probably work fine. All " B " series engines are internally balanced.
