How the hell do I get the reservoir off of the old master cylinder and on to my new one? I've looked around and no one seems to have as much difficulty as me.

It was a bear when I did mine. I used a small prybar but you have to be careful not to break the reservoir. Try some spray lubricant on the rubber and pry a little on each side till it comes out. If it's cold where you are, try a little heat on the rubber to make it more pliable.

There is a single phillips screw in between the two legs of the res. Then the 2 plastic legs are wedged into the rubber sleves in the MC body. It took me 20 minutes of careful prying to remove mine. I did a little bit at a time on both sides and eventually I got it off. It was even harder to put the res on the new MC body. Don't stress out to much about it, there are easy to find replacement parts if you do happen to break it. Some of them just get so old and brittle they are destined to snap.
