  • fuel filter mounting

From previous comments I gather this has been visited many times, but here goes. I am looking for alternative ways to mount a fuel filter in a 1990 Festiva L w/ auto trans. I have seen replies referring to previous threads, but I am unable to find the threads. If any one has pics that would be great. The actual filter bracket is missing, the brace / bracket in the engine compartment is there. Thanks for your help in advance.

maybe there is but i can't think of a reason that an aftermarket hi pressure filter couldnt be mounted to be more accessible than where it is. if you get an OEM filter from ford it won't have the bracket on it and in our area of the country you're sure to snap the pinch bolt and the rubber isolator studs if you try and remove one thats been on since the car was built. 4GREEN sales in Korea sells the filter with the clamping bracket if you can put up with the excessive shipping charges. they also have the brace that you mention with the rubber isolators attached. the auto brace is different than the MT bracket. the ATX one is KB35913440. links to filter and MT brace pics:

I just zip-tie mine to one of the brake lines going from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve.
