probably not many extras laying around yet. When he made mine in late summer he said it was the first one he had drilled for an Escort carb. Well worth waiting for though. Quality product. Try to be patient, you probably can't make anything as good. Good choice on carburetors! Mine runs great! Choke works right, it's quick, it's fast, it idles smooth and at the correct RPM's, and all I have to do is barely bump the key and it starts immediately every time! Just outclasses my old 32/36. They are an aftermarket product. Escort carbs were used by Ford Motor Company for about 6 years. If Ford believed in them, I do. Webers are twice as expensive too.

Escort carbs can be found with a facory throttle kicker too, so you can raise the RPM when the air is on (if you have it) Webers make no provision for this. Escort carbs have a better designed fuel bowl too. with my 32/36 it would cut out slightly when going left pretty fast. No problem at all with an Escort carb. Superior OEM part IMHO. I should be an Escort carb salesman!Last edited by zoe60; 12-21-2014, 02:34 PM.

For you that have installed the escort carb, what breather/filter did you use? I found the carbs on eBay for around $100, but I can't find them locally to snag a breather assembly.Im not driving a Festiva because I'm poor. I drive a Festiva because i want to!

I used the original air cleaner by reworking the opening to fit the Escort carb and also the Escort air cleaner that was used on the Escort carb. The picture of the Escort air cleaner shows it the way it came from the Escort car. You will need to cut some of the air intake snout off because it almost touches the top radiator support thus blocking the air intake. I welded and re-drilled my intake manifolds to fit the Escort carb and didn't have any clearance problems with either air cleaner height wise. I don't know how it will work if you use an adapter.
You gonna race that thing?
