aspire swap

i put my aspire engine in my festiva it runs great.but i had to use the aspire altinator. it has a brown and red wire wire and the festiva has a black and black and red wire can any one tell me which wire ties where to make work my charge light came on for a second when i turned the key on but went out . i dont know if it blew the light or what happened.it seems to be charging but id like to be sure on the wires

The plug is the same. Plug it in and dont worry about the wires.

My plug on my festiva was a lot smaller than the plug on the aspire that's why I had to cut the plug on the aspire and put it on the festiva but I'll try and put them together and hope for the best thank you for your reply.

What year chassis? Either way the wiring is simple. Red to red. And brown to black.
