  • Headlight problem Only HIGH"S work

I was driving to mexico IN last night & the lights went out while driving there. So we drove for 20 min's with just the highs on(getting flashed the entire way), until I got to the guy's house where I was getting more festiva parts from. I take off the steering wheel & headlight/wiper control and put in my spare headlight control(just happen to be in the car). Still the same no low beams only high's. I didn't have my haynes in the car, so I couldn't find the relays & such to test them. So i readjusted the high's to point down quite a aways & drove home. Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong?

Carl, have you checked the headlamps to make sure they both work on low beam? I like to make sure that what I am trying to make work, does work. Mike

well that didn't make much sense unless he has another car with that type of headlights he has no way of checking them does he?

Check to see if the wires melted for the low beams, mine did that in my 90 grand am.

I've had both headlights blow at the same time. The way I figure it was that one blew and the power spike caused the other to blow. Since it's a twin-filament, the brights still work.

^^ yep if they have been in there for a while , 1 blows then it puts the load on the other bulb and usually blows it .
It could be something else , but I would take another bulb out of something and just check it first to be sure .
I love my Silver Stars , I have them in everything and I can't remember the last time I had to replace one .
