There is a lot of humidity here. The engine came from a junk yard but not sure how long it was there.

Sometimes a JY engine is good, sometimes not. I got a B6 from a JY, with guarantee. I pulled the valve cover to see the how clean or dirty, They were still silverish, figured it was a good engine. Took it home and put on engine stand, tried to turn it over, and it wouldn't budge. Took the oil pan off and it was all rusted very badly on the cylinder walls and crank. Obviously it was left in the rain without a cover over the intake.

Good luck with your renewed engine!

Got the Festy back yesterday. Runs like a champ. The guy said all 4 oil rings had to be dug out of the pistons, there was no way of unsticking those with treatments with the oil rings stuck, the other 2 rings on the piston would get stuck eventually too with all the oil getting past the oil ring.
The engine overall is a great engine.

Thanks again to zoom zoom for giving me this engine and installing it about a year ago.

I want to mention the PCV system was clogged in the valve cover due to the oil rings being stuck in the pistons. Oil getting past the oil rings would make it's way up to the PCV system.
