Won't warm up

Well, and letting it warm up for 5 or so minutes before driving.

Still not much heat threw heater though, but a bit better than before.

When you flushed the heater core, did you disconnect the heater core hoses and reverse the flow through it with a garden hose, full blast in both directions, until the water ran clear?

No I didn't directly flush the core. Heat inside the car wasn't mine main concern at the time. I'll try that next now though, when I get a chance.
