  • Help with 99 ford tarus

First Sorry if this is in wrong section just want to see if anyone ever had this problem or knows how to fix. My folks have a 99 Ford Tarus that started to run hot. I took a look at it and figure it was the water pump. So I changed the water pump and my mom drove it back and forth to work for 2 weeks no problems (10 miles to job). They decided to go out of town one weekend maybe 25 miles the temp gauge got dangerously close to the hot mark. Towed it home and I went thru it. I changed the radiator, thermostat, top and bottom water hose, heater core, the temp. sensor. We drove it down the road and nothing ran great. On the way back I got into the accelerator just to see and the temp gauge started up again really close to hot and this car always ran around mid level of the gauge. Im at a lose. I didn't think the head could be messed up no smoke or water in the oil or oil in the water. Can anyone give a idea or know whats going on.

You did not say if you have observed the cooling fan turning on? Does it run smooth ? Does it have the power it should? The coolant was at its normal level ? No air locked in the intake manifold coolant passages, heater hose area...the heater works as it should? No check engine light?

They do come on. Do they have high and low? Seems it used to be louder than they are now.

Some of those had a fan module on the shroud that controlled fan speed. They caused a lot of problems. Common failure.
