  • hole in outer seal bore of oil pump at about the 7 o'clock position?

So I did the timing belt and outer seal cuz something was leaking. when I was trying to pull the seal out and my poker slipped back in the direction of this hole i found in the bore. I'm not sure if my tool caused the hole or if it was there already.I'll take a picture of it when I can. Like I said its at like the 7 o'clock area of the outer bore of the oil pump Ruhr behind where the oil seal sets. Has anyone else seen this hole or did I cause it?

I didn't have anything the perfect size to push it in so I used a big flat head with a towel over the tip and gently tapped the new seal in. I also did the cam seal and oil pan gasket so its not those.

Also the instructions say to torque the crank bolt to 127 and the book says like 81 I think just curious how tight it is supposed to be?

    thanks

Not to worry, that is just the oil drain back to the crankcase for oil seepage from the pump.
Small nose B series crank torque to 85 lb/ft, Large nose to 127 lb/ft.

If you have a B3 (US) or B6 1990 or earlier, you are good to go at 85 lb/ft
