  • Need help on IAC

Hey y'all, hoping someone can chime in on some much needed info. This project I started involved cleaning up the lower & upper intake plenum by removing them. I replaced the gaskets & cleaned them up good. I also threw in new O-rings on the the injectors. Since I had the iac off I want to know how to test it. I don't have a volt reader & I know I should get one to make mylife better but is there a way to make sure it is working properly? I can blow in & have blow out of all ports. I was also thinking of trying to blow in the ports when the iac is in room temp? Lately my tiva has been running kinda rough at startup. When it's cold at startup it idles around 650 then jumps to 100 rpms after 30 seconds of start up. Any tips, advice would be great thanks.

Surprised no one commented but I figured I'd update this so if anyone in the future stumbles on it.. I ended up pulling a used iac off a tiva at a salvage yard. Installed it & she purs. Idles at 650rpms once engine is warm.

I've never had a properly functioning IAC on these cars. Never.

They always get pulled and tossed aside. Glad you found a good one.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
