  • Hand Brake Light staying on

I pulled the cover off the hand brake on my 88 LX and took the sensor off. The spring and plunger were in good condition.
I carefully adjusted it after putting it back on the handle and made sure that the little metal piece on top of plunger made
contact with the spring housing. Put the wire fixture back on it and turned on the ignition to see if the light was still on. The
brake handle was in the full down position, so it should have been off, but it was still on. Anyone have any clues as to why
all of a sudden this should be happening? I made sure that I checked everything thoroughly, and that all was working and
making contact with the pad when brake is pulled up. Electrical contact points are clean and connector is in good shape.
    HELP!

    Thanks for any clues

This might sound stupidly obvious, but have checked your brake fluid level? Low fluid level will make the light come on.

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Why in the heck would you want to do that. The warning light serves an extremely important function.
